my son the absolute sweetie pie

**note: I have a genetic form of arthritis that attacks the hands of all the

females in my family. I don't know what it's called, I just know that it has

begun to affect my joints and deform them in the same way my mother's hands are

mangled. They can be very painful.**

had a little plastic charm on a safety pin that he wanted me to attach to

his zipper pull this morning. I took the pin, and pinned it on. It took about

twice as long as it used to, as the flexibility in my thumbs is almost gone.

But I got it done, and he was pleased.

Then he said, " Did that hurt? "

Oh my god. My stomach clenched! " Did that hurt what, honey? "

" Did your hands hurt when you did that? "

WWWWAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was SO HAPPY that I could tell him, " No, it didn't hurt. My hands feel good

today! " I flexed for him, and he nodded, seemingly satisfied.

Oh my god! I can't believe he ASKED! I can't believe he realized that it

COULD hurt my hands! I can't believe he CARED whether my hands hurt or not!

Oh, my sweet, sweet boy!!!!!

I HAD to share.

What a sweetie!

About the arthritis -- my mother has that and my sister has Fibromyalgia.

They both have porphyria too. Genetically, half my mom's kids (five of us)

should have porphyria.

I have carpel tunnel syndrome (which REALLY sucks for a writer) -- I wonder

if it's related at all?

Thanks! And no need to be sorry. It's just one of those things. :-)

All the women in my family have it. I guess it just hit me so early because

I've never drunk enough milk and haven't had ANY dairy in the last two

years. :-( Time to start taking those calcium supplements faithfully, I

guess!

Yup. I've developed carpal tunnel as part of the fibro. Which really sucks

for a painter!
