Guest guest
Hello. Just made my first batch of " SCD-friendly " yogurt. I made it with organic whole milk. I'm not sure if I'm going to calculate it in or not (since we're weaning off) -- but I just wondered if, by chance, anyone had the values for the homemade whole milk yogurt. Also, FYI, I was checking on the ElainesChildren list to see if some of my " staples " were SCD legal. They said that Carrageenam was a huge no-no because it was a gut irritant. It's in my " all natural " Diestel oven roasted turkey and in my Organic Valley Heavy Whipping Cream. Anyway, thought some of you might be interested -- it's not a keto no-no, but apparently could be a problem for some of our kids who have gut issues. Of course. . . I thought I was using the purest possible stuff. Anyone know of a turkey or cream that doesn't contain this?--D
Guest guest
De..... That's strange..... the Organic Valley cream that I buy up here does not have carageenan in it. I don't buy it very often anymore.... so maybe it's changed. Hmmm... I just know that when I was using cream in the first year of the diet, I'm sure it didn't. I have also used Albertson's cream which lists only CREAM as an ingredient. Well, if all else fails......I know a family with a Keto kid in Nebraska (not on this list) who actually bought a dairy cow to provide their son with fresh cream without additives every day! How did the yogurt turn out? Have you tasted it? Patti whole milk yogurt/carrageenam Hello. Just made my first batch of " SCD-friendly " yogurt. I made it with organic whole milk.
