Guest guest
I totally agree with all of your reasons - but having the students counted means that they can't be ignored by the feds - I really feel that the government would love nothing better than to have all students homeschooled because they don't want to deal with the problem that our kids were toxin to the point of no return (for some). If it only looks like a few kids are affected, then there is no reason for the feds to do anything. My little guy only goes to school for 3 hours per day - we take care of the rest for the all the reasons you stated. We are lucky because we have resources at our disposal that the majority of students around the country don't have. We feel that we are educating the education system that there are lots of appropriate methods to educate our children ABA, TEACCH, VB, Floortime, etc. I feel very fortunate that I have convince 4 teachers that diet, chelation, and appropriate educational strategies can be a big help to children with special needs. Dana I always love to hear your comments and all your points were well taken and I agree with you. I just don't want the feds to think that there is a no problem. Greirs used the Dept of Education statistics for their numbers and I am sure others do to - my point is that those numbers do not include all the kids affected by mercury. I really don't think govt. thinks there is a problem. We have several homeschool kids that only come to gym and art at the school I teach (these middle schoolers only come for 2 periods of the day) - so they can count in our numbers because there is an IEP.
