Guest guest
I took my son to Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park today, and walked around the lake. They have rowboats and paddle boats there, and a waterfall. It was so nice and peaceful. I took a loaf of bread and peanuts to feed the animals. There are a ton of ducks, seagulls, and sparrows and pigeons, as well as water turtles, crawfish and koi. I had ducks eating from my hand, and fed a tame squirrel. All the animals there are used to people. I had one mallard who came up out of the water to get closer to me, and when he saw a pigeon eating from my hand, he started taking it out of my hand. He even jumped straight up in the air like a dog, to take the bread. It was so cute. He got my fingers a few times, good thing ducks don't have teeth! I was surprised when the squirrel let me walk right up so that we were face to face, less than a foot between us. He has a stump he sits on, waiting for people to feed him. Next time I will have to take my camera! A few months ago I never would have been able to walk around the lake and enjoy myself. I would have been huffing and puffing, with my back killing me, sweating and miserable. Dana in San Francisco, CA
