Guest guest
I lost all the hearing in my left ear over night a two years ago. When I got up I lost my balance then I could hear this un-godly hiss in my ear and ringing (sounded like the bell on a cats collar). An hour later I could not hear the telephone dial tone. It was the most horrifying experience. I could not sleep. Truly devastating. With the help of a high dose of Prednisone and Acylovir I was able to regain some of my hearing, but I still have the tinnitus, and I still lose my balance at times. I had an MRI done to look for an acoustic neuroma, but everything was clear..most likely it was related to my PSC and Crohns. Eventually a person does adjust to the hearing loss...avoid high decibel noise if possible. Andi, PSC, Crohns 2001/2002 ***
