Have any of you had the lidocaine patch?

I was prescribed it and got the package home today after office hours

for the dr. It says to apply to my shoulder blade for 12 hours and

then off 12.

But I don't know if it is better to have on during the day or on

during the night.

I don't know anyone who's had this.

They also prescribed a topical gel that contains lidocaine and other

stuff but didn't think it would be filled. They have to get special

approval or something for it.

I am glad to at least be, hopefully, headed down a path toward some

relief. I know it won't be fixed. BUt it can at least feel better!

Hi Joy, yes my mom and son have the patches. Mom uses them all the time. She

uses them mostly during the day. You can use up to three at one time, you can

cut them if you want. After 12 hours, you can move them to another location for

another 12 hours. After moving them, they don't stick as well and you may want

to try tape to help them stay in place. They work for her to take the edge off

the pain. My son doesn't use them much anymore. They haven't tried the jell.
