Guest guest
Hi, I am new to the group... trying out new recipes to ease my way into it for my 3 year old son with autism who is an extremely picky eater. My son has intolerances to nuts and eggs and we've avoided them since June and he is taking enzymes. Well, I wanted to try out the nut pancakes to see if he could handle those... that was two days ago. Today he has about 15 looking bug bites spaced sporadically on his face, neck, legs and arms. Its not looking like chicken pox at this point, the pediatrician said it could be a viral infection from a cold he just had, OR the DAN doctor said it could be a reaction to the pancakes. My question: For those of you with kids who get hives, does this sound like hives (meaning the placement, and occuring 2 days later, only a scab on one of them)? He doesn't seem too bothered by them, but I did notice him scratching one on the face. I really want to get started on this diet, but need to find things to feed him first... Thanks so much. Guest guest
, Why don't you try looking up " hives " on google to see if you can find some images? It doesn't seem likely that a reaction like hives would occur two days after exposure. Hives tend to occur very quickly after eating the offending food. On me and on my boys, hives tend ot be much larger in diameter than a bug bite. If you rub benadryl cream or give him benadryl orally, the hives should go away pretty quickly. If you are concerned that he has a true IgE allergy to nuts, you could take him to an allergist and have a skin test done to be certain. I would never recommend eating a food that causes a true allergic reaction. Jody mom to -5 and -8 SCD 21 months
Guest guest
Hi! My ds has severe food allergies and gets hives within 15 min usually of eating an offending food. The problem is for him that he reacts to things that he did not previously. His are usually on his face neck and arms. We are doing SCD without nuts, eggs, bananas, peanuts, dairy, spinach, avocado, peas, lamb, beef, and limas because he gets hives and very blotchy skin (and bad behavior too!) . So you can still do this diet with allergies. Meghan ----- Original Message ----- Outgoing mail is Virus Scanned byNorman Data Defense. Inbound Spam reduced 98.2% byVircom Sieve.
