- good question - my understanding from Dr. Bock and

unremembered-elsewhere is that mold spores favour yeast, but whether it is

through the mechanism of mold allergy dampening the body's resistance to

pre-existing yeast, inhaled spores somehow favourising yeast colonies... I could

go on, but clearly I'm just fishing around. Andy may jump in anyway and slice

and dice my foolishness! Put it this way - our summer house for various reasons

has a fair amount of mildew. For three summers in a row, Cameron has seriously

regressed. The past two summers when we knew enough to do testing he has shown

high levels of yeast. In the case of this past summer, I know that his OATs

throughout winter and spring showed him to have beaten the yeast from the

previous summer. About 2 weeks into this summer he started acting giggly and

spacey, and sure enough the yeast was back. We hadn't changed his protocol,

restarted sugars, done antibiotics or any of the obvious things that risk a

resurgence of yeast. Unless chlorine may favourise yeast?

I'd be very interested and grateful to hear anyone's thoughts or experiences on

this since next summer will roll around faster than I'd like and I'll need to

have a grip on the exact nature of the problem.
