Guest guest
We've been on the diet since May and we have seen some very nice results. We are also giving B12 shots. I think the biggest area of progress is in the receptive language and attention areas. We really started to see noted progress in the past few weeks (going into the 6th month). However, the past few weeks our son has been getting up about 3am and stays up till about 6 or 6:30 and then is exhausted when we wake him up for school. I am afraid to change anything because I am happy with his progress otherwise. Any ideas? When he is up, he is babbling a ton. Thanks0 Michal, mother of Elie, almost 5 __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I'm curious to know what your son eats...both of my girls wake up for several hours at night if they eat moderate to high phenol foods. Could you list what he eats? That might be a part of the problem. Rose (Mom to , scd 1 month, and , scd 9 months) > We've been on the diet since May and we have seen some very nice results. Guest guest
My son eats lots of bananas, broiled chicken, apples, cheese, legal juices, carrots, green beans, banana pancakes, raisins, unsweetened dried, cranberries, peas, melon (cantaloupe).occasionally a few peanuts, appleasuce- that's all I can think of right now- he's pretty picky so he does not hae that much variety yet. He's been taking clonidine, which helps him fall asleep and ws helping him stay asleep until recently. I spoke to our neurologist today and he told me to up the dose a bit. Anyway, if you have any thoughts, please let me know. Thanks and hope it's a good night-Michal lbmenajovsky wrote: I'm curious to know what your son eats...both of my girls wake up for several hours at night if they eat moderate to high phenol foods. Guest guest
Wow...lots of high phenol foods in there (apples, bananas, berries, raisins). My daughter takes clonidine too, but she still wakes up if she eats a high phenol food. She can tolerate some of the phenolic veggies as long as she takes No Fenol with it, and this will often NOT cause her to wake in the middle of the night from eating earlier that day. Uping the dose of clonidine actually might backfire because it may cause the child to have an even deeper sleep (it reduces rem sleep) and therefore wake up even sooner than usual because he's well-rested. We've had to take my daughter down to 1/4 of a tablet, almost a homeopathic dose...just enough to fall asleep within an hour but not enough to wake her 5 hours later. Have you looked into the phenolic sensitivity issue?
