One actually had to be lanced by a surgeon and she does have scars where the sores were the worst. We asked several doctors who were seeing her at the time (she was in the hospital) about it and took her to two different dermatologists over a period of time. The last dermatologist thought it was a staph infection that she was more susceptible to because she was immunosuppressed - she prescribed an antibiotic which cleared it up. Also, even after, was still prone to get sores on her leg and she used and still uses an antibacterial wash that you can get at the drug store - that also helps mostly to prevent more sores. It was actually one of her GI's that suggested she use it. I'll get you the name of it when comes home. Hope this helps. Good luck with the doctor.
