Hi, Ladies!

It's been a while since I've posted, but I thought I'd chime in and let you

know that my husband and I had our baby girl on September 4th!

was 6lbs 5oz and 18.5 inches.

She had a distressful beginning and spent her first few days in special care

due to both my odd shaped uterus and the fact that the cord was wrapped around

her neck. My cerclage was removed one week earlier and I was dilated 4cm

when my water broke. I was given pitocin to stimulate contractions, which never

became too terrible or regular. However, as the contractions did get

stronger, 's heartbeat decelerated. At that point, my doctor made the

decision

for me to have a c-section.

When was born, she was a 1 on the apgar scale, but within 5 minutes she

improved to an 8 on the scale. Nonetheless, she had a high white blood cell

count which caused her to stay in NICU for a while. At this point in time,

however, she's doing wonderfully!

Also, as it turns out, my uterus is not bicornuate or didelphus as my doctor

thought. I have a septate uterus, and, from what I understand, the doctor,

snipped away some of the septum during the c-section. I will find out more

details during my follow-up appointment.

Anyway, that's the latest for me. I wish all of you well on your baby

journeys...
