Kim-- I just wanted to tell you that you most definitely can conceive

before you get your period, it is possible to ovulate before you begin your

periods again while you are BFing.

I personally don't recommend getting on the pill while you're nursing,

even the mini pill can drastically affect your milk supply. I'm still

nursing my 20 mo old and we used contraceptive film, but I've heard of a lot

of women being happy learning and practicing Natural Family Planning.

Everyone is different, but anytime that you can find a birth control method

that doesn't require drugs and chemicals the better you and your baby will

be. LOL ! S.

Dawnn- I can't think of the specific name of the film we used (since we

aren't using any right now ). But, it's sold in drug stores, Walmart's etc

with the condoms and such. All it is is a spermicidal that comes wrapped in

a thin little square of " film. " You insert that in the vagina about 10 min

before intercourse and it seems to do the trick.

It doesn't work as well as the pill and such so we don't use it if were

not BFing, but with the hormone suppression that BFing provides, I feel that

gives us the little added boost that you need " just to make sure " !

Kim,

If you ovulate before starting to bleed you could very well get pregnant

without ever starting a period. When your cycle starts it can often start

with ovulation and so women will get pregnant without ever cycling after

their baby is born. Do you think you might be pregnant?

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding

From: TATKAT1@...

here's my question: Is it possible to get pregnant if you're not having a

period? I haven't had a period since I quit bleeding after having my son.

And I haven't been on bc since May, so does anyone know what my chances are?

I'm not wanting to get pregnant, but I also haven't been able to get to the

doctor for birth control. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Have a

good night, ladies!

It's possible. I'm going get e test done soon and then will go from there.

I was just wondering if breastfeeding slows the process of getting pregnant.

Thanks for all the info ladies!

Kim :)
