Guest guest
Good luck , I hate diets to. Lori -- did you know a serving of rice is 1/3 cup - COOKED! Hi All, So ontop of everything else - i have reactive hypoglycemia - no big whoop - expect that I just got back from the nutritionist (dietician - what's the difference?) UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG..... She's putting me on a hypogylecimic/weight loss " lifestyle " (i'm not allowed to call it a diet). did I mention UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.... One slice toast with cheese and fruit - breakfast hard boiled egg - mid-morning snack 2 cups lettuce, piece of chicken the size of a deck of cards, lite dressing - maybe handful crackers - lunch handful of nuts - late afternoon snack 1/3 cup rice (cooked) or vegetable soup, piece of fish size of deck of cards, vegetables (steamed) - dinner I EAT MORE THAN THIS ENTIRE DIET AT ONE MEAL - Oh the kicker - work in exercise. EXERCISE - I can't find time to mop the floors - EXERCISE - change the sheets - EXERCISE - I never leave the house anymore... I found a small window of time that I could EXERCISE to a tape from 4:10 - 4:50 while they're in ABA. Guest guest
<<< reactive hypoglycemia >>> I had this when pregnant with Adeline. I'm sorry you have to deal with this also. <<<She's putting me on a hypogylecimic/weight loss " lifestyle " >>> Don't you wish they would just be honest. No one on earth eats like this.. That always drove me nuts, it's a diet because in real life no one eats like that except while trying to diet. I have a girlfriend that is around 100lbs normally. She had the other problem the dietian tell her to eat. Trust me this little 100 pound girl does and can eat me under the table. And it isn't a one time occasional thing. She can eat. Then why am I over 200 and she weighs 100 could it be genetics, no it must be my lifestyle. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Guest guest
I firmly believe that it is mostly genetics, and how your body responds to stress. When stress is high, some bodies respond by craving sugary, fattening foods, and releasing cortisol into the bloodstream, which in turn triggers your body to store fat. Other people, stress doesn't trigger the same mechanisms, and their body doesn't store the fat as readily. My dad was one of those, and unfortunately, I'm one of the former. :-( Hence, since Matt's birth, subsequent heart surgery, my dad's death, Matt's dev. delays and now dx of autism, my weight has gone from 208 (a week after his birth) to close to, if not over 250 right now. :-( I'm almost 5'3 " . :-( ellen Re: did you know a serving of rice is 1/3 cup - COOKED! Guest guest
I had a really good idea, ellen.... Wanted to see if it worked for you. What if we put some time aside once a week, maybe say Wednesday Morning, where we meet at Discovery Park after we drop the kids off at school, walk the perimeter of the park then go have coffee? Does that sound like a good start? If not, I'm open to other ideas.... Penny RE: did you know a serving of rice is 1/3 cup - COOKED! Guest guest
Unfortunately, this IS a perfectly healthy " diet " . So completely unrealistic though!!! Bonbons on the way...... Guest guest
, I should keep a copy of you're 'non diet'. I've been having bouts of hypoglycemia too and my Dr. said to start avoiding processed sugars. I'm high risk for adult onset diabetes. Ugh. Guest guest
Sounds WONDERFUL to me. It will help the weight, and the mental health too! :-) ellen RE: did you know a serving of rice is 1/3 cup - COOKED! Guest guest
I prefer diet drugs over boring nutritionist-approved diets. Yuck. Sissi
