Guest guest
Hi Simon There is an operation which may be the answer to your problems in the long-term. It is called ETS (endoscopic transthoracic sympathicotomy). This is a procedure in which an endoscope is inserted into each armpit and the sympathetic nerves which supply the face are cut. There is an alternative procedure in which the nerves are clamped which is reversible for a while. This operation is specifically for people who blush due to social situations, embarrassment, etc, and who may develop rosacea because of the constant blushing. Is your flushing only due to embarrassment, social situations, giving presentations, etc? Some links you might find interesting are: http://blushing.org/ http://www.hand-sweat.com/facb.htm http://www.hyperhidrosisusa.com.html/ets.html In the short term, you could try hypnosis if you haven't already tried it. The operation will address the blushing aspect but won't address any redness due to damage to vessels which can be corrected by photoderm (intense light) treatment. Best wishes to you Hazel
