Guest guest
Being friday the 13th im not superstisius but i had to laugh at this at work. This one mom comes in and told me oh its friday the 13th she shoudnt have came in (apperntly very superstitius). Well i laughed cause i was thinking as bad as the last two days were friday the 13th really couldnt get bad. Well. It was a good day. I payed my bills (and had the right amount of $$$), got to the college to get some books from the library that i needed, got through my appointments in once peice. Was even able to clearly explain my visual imparement ad the person i was talking to even seemed to understand. I got on the bus without incident. I took a different bus home that goes right on the side of my building so i will deffinatly be taking this bus home at night cause its the closest for me. All in all it was a good day. Just want to wish all those a plesent rest of the friday the 13th Chantelle
Guest guest
Chantelle- Good for you! Our day has been quite good too. Only an hour or so to bedtime so I'm feeling safe. As you talked about getting someone to understand your vision impairment, I realized how hard that must be. I mean, you don't know what we see. So how can you clearly explain how your vision is different? And if you are not seeing something, how can you describe what you are missing? This drives me crazy with Aubrie cuz I'd love to be inside her head just long enough to understand how she perceives the world. I don't imagine that she'll ever be able to really describe it so clearly that it'd be like being in there. And I'll never be able to explain so clearly to her what I see, hear, and experience so that she'd think she'd been in my head. As a mom, I don't want to just sort of get it, I really want to get it. Any success in finding a People First group near you? Have a good night and a good weekend! Michele W Aubrie's mom well Being friday the 13th im not superstisius but i had to laugh at this at work. Guest guest
I think i begain to understand it when my dad and i were sitting in the kitchen and looking towards the windows. The curtins were partialy drawn so you could only see a little out of the window. My dad was able to say he recognised the car as his one neigbour, but to me the car went far to fast to tell what it was. I know it takes me longer to process the information, but the curtins in a way were like my colombomas. Only letting a small area of the picture to be seen. Knowing this, i also know that if my dad (or anyone walks towards me on my right side, i can see their movement very well. my left side dosnt do this cause i have less vision on my left side. I know there is more to this but thats kinda how it started to make sence to me. Chantelle

Guest guest
Chantelle - Gosh, it really helped to hear how that worked for you. I can't tell you how much I look forward to the day when Aubrie can share insight like that. Until then, I so appreciate yours!
