Should I raise the A some more? I would try up to 50,000 IU daily with him. > Anything else that might be beneficial at this time? Depends a lot on what exact problems got him on risperidal. Hydrogenated fat exclusion is very likely to help. It is a big pain though as it must be rigorous and long term. > As always, thanks for your advice. > > Elai
Guest guest
Andy, He was started on the Risperdal to help him with uncontrollable meltdowns that were basically keeping him from functioning to the fullest in school and other situations. Guest guest
I would also look into the meltdowns more. Possibilities that come to mind are: 1. hypoglycemia due to not eating often enough, or being fed sweets. 2. chemical sensitivity to something in the school, like a teacher's perfume. 3. seizure like phenomena. Does he have melt downs at home? What is his school day diet compared to home diet? How effective was the risperidal at controlling these and what else did it do to his behavior? Andy . . . . . . . . . . . . . > He was started on the Risperdal to help him with uncontrollable > meltdowns that were basically keeping him from functioning to the > fullest in school and other situations. > > Elaine > > > > > Andy - any suggestions for additional supplements while weaning > our > > > ds off Rispedal?
