Guest guest
Well, I had my MRI done today. They said they will send the preliminary report to my doctor within 24-48 hours, so I guess I will have to wait to find out my dx. I asked the guy if I would be able to pick up a copy of one of the scans for my records and he said I'd have to pay over $100 for it!! That just sounds crazy to me. Did anyone get a copy of their MRI? They wouldn't even let me get a glance of it, which I guess I understand. Oh well, I will call the dr in the morning to see if he's heard anything. Guest guest
Jolyn, I hope that you get solid answers from your MRI report. In response to your question, it seems that every MRI clinic is different. I had an MRI last December and they gave me the hardcopy pictures to take home with me on the same day (they look like X-rays but with about a dozen or so tiny pictures on the film). They told me that they have digital copies of the pictures and the doctor uses those to make the diagnosis and write the report. Of course I went crazy trying to look at them but to me, they were hard to figure out, but I concluded that I didn't see anything that looked like BU (which is what I was originally told) and it turnes out that I was indeed SU. 32, 1 m/c, SU resected > Well, I had my MRI done today. Guest guest
Jolyn, I was able to check out my films (like a library book) 2 weeks at a time, unlimited renewals after they had been read. I actually scanned the best image of my (pre-op) funky uterus and posted it in the photo gallery here under 'Our Uteri'. I was told that for copies, or if I failed to return the originals I would be charged $15 per sheet. - (29, SU bicollis, resected 7/25/03)
