Zinco...It's not just a sunscreen!

Hi all,

For a long time, I ignored most of the posts about Zinco, because I

really wasn't that interested in a sunscreen (not a necessity in

Oregon). Anyhow, because of all the positive comments I read from this

group I decided to give it a try.

Until I began using Zinco I was very frustrated. I used 1% Noritate once

daily, but unless I combined it with antibiotic use, I still got

pustules and papules. Not a lot, but about 1 new one every couple of

days. The constant cycle of breaking out, healing up and then breaking

out again left my one cheek always red and irritated.

So, I decided to try the Zinco. What a difference! In combination with

the Vita-Oil, my cheek actually looks normal most of the time. I still

get an occasional pustule/papule, but they're smaller, and usually

resolve themselves in a day or so. My loved ones have even commented how

much better my face looks. The other great thing about Zinco, is that I

can apply it several times a day without irritating my face. I don't

usually do this, but it works great when I take a shower during the day.

For the past 3 weeks I've been using the following regimen:

AM:

I wash my face with water only. Then I apply a few drops of Vita-Oil,

followed by Noritate. Finally after the Noritate I apply the Zinco.

PM:

I wash my face with Cetaphil, apply a few drops of Vita-Oil, and then a

thin layer of Zinco.

I really like using Zinco at night. I tried applying the Noritate twice

daily, but it really irritated my skin. With the Zinco I feel like I'm

still preventing breakouts.

Oh, one last thing. Yes, the Zinco looks very brown when it comes out of

the tube, but it blends perfectly on my very fair Oregon skin. I think

that most people could use the tinted without problems. Give it a try!
