i have a few suggestions, but please ask you rdoctor first bfore

trying as these are only suggestions. however, a couple of things

are. one, my docs told me to do the vit b shots, another thing is

ask if prenatal vits could help. these usually have extra vits in

them. also on top of everthing you're doing ask if you can shampoo

with rogains for now til you get past this bout you're going

through. rogaine won't regrow hair back, but it will strengthen the

hair folicals you have as to prevent further hair loss. then when

your body has adjusted you wont need it anymore. as for embarrasment

what's worse, buying it or lossing your hair? my prayers will be

with you in this time of trial. my advice in the mean time is buy

yourself some new clothes and strut your stuff sweet heart cause

you're beautiful no matter what and this is only temporary, your

hotness will last a lifetime!

I don't mean to sound insensitive, but is the hair loss a side

effect from not having enough vitamins after wls surgery? If so,

that scares the **** out of me, cause my hair is thin anyway.

Sherry,

I have heard from my classes and the women there that the hair loss will

occur at the 3-5 month mark after surgery. But they all said that the hair

comes back and you should be normal a couple of months after that........I

keep my hair super short like a buzz cut, so I don't even notice if I have

or did lose my hair......You might want to go Demi from GI Jane, and

nobody will notice your hair has thinned out! LOL.........

I'm 13 months post op and my hair STILL comes out by the hand full everytime I

wash it or brush it. Before my surgery I had a MASSIVE THICK head of hair, but

it is finally starting to get thin after all these months. I am taking

additional vitamins in hopes of warding off bald spots..but you know...I've

survived more than thinning hair..I was 365 pounds...a size 30/32....with any

and everything under the sun wrong with me...Now I'm a healthy 5'11 " 180 pounds

size 12 .....so what the hell, I can afford a wig if I need one......and guess

what...I may have thinning hair, but I'm almost 200 pounds lighter and I AM

FABULOUS...thinning hair and all....Celebrate life guys....buy a wig. (smiles)

Lots of love to all from Vegas...

I don't think it's a certainty that it will happen to you. I never

noticed excess hair falling out. Maybe it did but I just didn't

notice it.

Maybe if mine starts falling out, I'll just have my hair cut Mike T. style. LOL!

I am thinking about chopping it off. It's a pain to have to do in the morning

The nutritionist told me that there would be no hair

loss if I ate a balanced diet. She said the only

patients that lost hair with her were not eating a

balanced diet. I don't have anything else to go by but

what she said.

I've ate a balanced diet and met all of the dietary requirements and still had

hair loss. So, I think your nutritionist is just telling you what you want to

hear.

I have had several surgeries in my life....c section,

back surgery, hysterectomy, appendicitis, etc...and

everytime i have had surgery I have lost a bit of

hair, according to the doctors, it was a side affect

of the anesthia....my dad lost a little hair too after

he had his quadruple bypass....but it grew back....oh,

who knows?

I eat vegggies, meat and fruit,...dont' know how much

I can balance???

I started taking biotin about 2 months before my surgery, just for

a " head start " ... My hair is growing like crazy and so are my

finger nails! I used to have thin, weak nails and now they look

like they are artificial! I have to file them down about once a

week! I still lose hair by the handfuls, more than I did already

before surgery. But I can also tell that I have lots of " baby

hairs " growing. I also have long, naturally curly hair-- so that

helps it to look a little thicker and fuller! Good luck!

I did it. And no one laughed. Actually, people said,

you're so brave. I would love to do that. It's funny,

a lot of women are sick of the amount of work doing

their hair takes. Anyway, now I'm sick of it, so I'm

letting it grow out. It's was great while it lasted.

Hi:

My doctor has me taking Optisource vitamins which are specially

formulated for use after bariatric surgery. You take one four times a

day and they are chewable and have a nice flavor. Optisource already

contains biotin 75 mcg per vitamin, when you take all four you get

100% of the recommended amount.

Now I don't know if this is enough and I am only 23 days after

surgery, so if more is needed please let everyone know.

I currently take a Pre-Natal, two iron pills, 2 Vitamin C, 1 Calcium with D, and

two B-12's everyday...I am wondering if I could add this Biotin into my daily

regimen? I keep hearing people talk about Biotin helping with their hair loss

and would love to incorporate it....does anyone else take additional B-12 along

with the Biotin?? Or would the Biotin be overkill I wonder? I wish I could call

my surgeon and ask him, but I lost my health insurance and now it seems as

though I am am his ex wife with the plaugue rather than just being a patient

whose insurance paid you 50 grand for this surgery....jerks. Any input would be

appreciated.

Thanks
