I almost failed PE because my PE teacher did not inform the principal that I was severely injured (ankles I think) and could not do any activity (not knowing about EDS was not an excuse). My mom almost went nuts trying to undo what the PE teacher had accomplished in one swipe of the pen on my report card! Knowing that I might not have passed Jr. High, she swore that if I ever injured myself again (LOL!) she would take the note in person to the Principal NOT the PE teacher. I did, she did and it all worked out! Sorry for anyone out there who is a PE teacher.... But MY experience has been if you can perform they don't want anything to do with you. I disagree. I think there are all kinds of things (chores) you can do in PE that keep you connected without having to do physical activities... However! I benefited from my many hours in study hall! (where they put me when I could not participate) Debbi Jill is quite right ... you have to cover all your bases
