YAY for you hon with your knowledge behind you for your daughter. :)

Sounds like I'd find a new pediatrician as well. Sigh* Just wishing her the best.. and indeed in this case.... "Mom knows best' !! Been there, done that, and won't do it again, (let alone to our children)... ;) I just hope that it's not something more serious.

When I was a small child I used to sometimes have irritation down there and my

mother taught me to just wash it with plenty of soap and water and the

irritation would go away. It could be a matter of sweat and its constituents

drying and remaining on the skin too long. To this day I sometimes need to wash

off the residue from sweating although I don't usually use soap down there.

And Dee is right. You need a new pediatrician, someone who will pay attention.

When I was young, about 7, there was an incident that I had vulvar pain and

burning for no reason. All I remember was my mom pouring cool water on me

to help me feel better. I always wondered if it was related.

Good for you for not just letting the pediatrician brush you off!!! Your

daughter is lucky to have you!

Hi :

We are our daughters best advocates. As a mother of a daughter with GI issues and past vv, I was wondering what your daughters GI issues were? What tests did they do? Do they know why she has diarheaa or are they still guessing?

I thought that Citucel was a fiber supplement for constipation. Fiber supplements were something suggested to me for my daughter before they knew what she had (Crohn's disease). It is not something you ever want to take with Crohn's even though she was constipated.

I hope you find the cause soon.

My daughter used to have issues when I used the wipe around the vestibule(it used to look redder than normal as well), and sometimes had bad blistering diaper rash-(only on occasion). Turns out that she has allergies-egg(fatal allergy), orange, milk. Now that we have eliminated the allergic foods, no more pain or diaper rash (but she is out of diapers as well). HTH Kimmi

Another thought about poor little ones with a bad diaper rash (or who knows what?) Is to consider those moistened baby diaper wipes.... while so handy some have had allergic reactions or irritation from those. Even the ones that are with Aloe. My grandaughters were both bothered by those and would really howl when my daugher used them.

Some people use those for BMs in the bathroom too (for adults) and I've used a few that irritated me I can tell you. Must depend on the brand (and they all smell so deliciously baby powder fresh) but it really is something to consider.

more thing to add about the wipes since Dee just triggered my memory....make sure that if you do buy wipes for ibabies, that they dont have alcohol in them. Most of them do, so you need to look for hypoallergenic. It could be the alcohol that is bothering them since it stings.

Kimmi

Seventh Generation makes a non-alcohol baby wipe.

I used to use the Huggies unscented but when everyone in the family started

using them up too they got too expensive. So I just dampen a kleenex and use

that. But I don't know how it would work for babies bottoms.
