Guest guest
I have solved the mystery. There is an " active " membership list, which is the total that we see when we sign on to the list through yahoo. Right now it is 1193. Then there is an " inactive " (otherwise known as " bouncing " ) list of members, whose e-mail boxes are full or who have changed their e-mail addresses without notifying yahoo. That list has increased by about 20 people since the last time I checked it. So our total membership hasn't changed drastically in the last few days. Just several people have moved from " active " to " inactive " on the roster. So, once those people reactivate their accounts, the active membership will go back up. Actually Jody has explained that when mail boxes get too full, emails bounce and a few our members (like 19 right now) get unlisted periodically by Yahoo. . Our membership is now so high that this is a an occasional happening. I am set to " no mail " and can post to the group from my mail program and also read on the Yahoo site ,post or reply to messages there. I suggest some may want to try these options. Carol F.
