Guest guest
So they tried to remove General Patton several times from the family tree but he kept coming back?:-) Just kidding, just kidding ... My dad had two cousins big into genealogy. They actually went back to Ireland and researched it back pretty far. Of course, one of his cousins was a bit unusual. A lot of times she would just say " Acupulco, Acupulco. " Of course, we had no idea what she meant. Her sister would hit her and yell at her " How many times do I have to tell you, it's MEA CULPA NOT ACUPULCO. " One of my favorite stories was about my grandmother. She had 13 siblings and was the youngest and smallest. One of her brothers was a spy, actually a double agent. He was working for the English and the Irish. Well, the English found out he was working both sides and they weren't very happy. They came to the farm, took him into the barn, and made the rest of the family watch as they hung him as an example. I guess the Queen wouldn't like that story, or maybe she would. > > I went to school with a girl who's uncle (several times removed) was General > Patten. I used to know a website that would trace genealogy as far
Guest guest
Now that's a story! Lee You know I just thought of one of mine. When I worked at Mass General in Boston, Henry Kissinger was my patient! I had to negotiate my treatment times with him! > > One of my favorite stories was about my grandmother. Guest guest
> I'll add my little bit on famous people: Bush (the father) was at my brother's wedding 10 years ago. He is good friends with my sis- in-law's family. Obviously, we are peons to my sis-in-law's family. Mr. Bush was very nice when I met him briefly. Any soap opera fans? If you used to watch " All My Children " in the '80's, then you should remember Donna Beck Tyler, etc (many last names). Her name is Candi Earley and she is from my home town and I know her; however, my mother knows her much better. One more, I got to meet Chuck Berry in the Newark airport. This has been fun finding out who knows who! Liz 36 MS 2/03, PSC 6/04 > OK, folks, I gotta weigh in on this. Guest guest
Post his name … someone here might know his work! LINDA From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Gaia Trek Sent: Saturday, March 11, 2006 1:41 AM To: Subject: Claims to Fame, Anyone? My uncle who I am very close with is an artist by trade. He’s sold paintings all over the world in many hospitals, universities and major corporations, as well as to some pretty famous people. I emailed him and joked about whether I should list him as one of my claims to fame. When he was more aggressive in his art career, I used to see his paintings show up unexpectedly in homes featured in Better Homes and Gardens and other home magazines, and a couple times we saw them turn up in movie sets. I, on the other hand, can draw some pretty good stick figures if I really put some effort into it.
