Guest guest
Well--- Everett Horton was my great Aunt's cousin. He was a star when silent movies were being made and crossed over to talkies. He always look very downhearted. He was also the narrator on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show, he introduced Mr. Peabody. Cool Huh? Guest guest
1. Lee’s sister babysat for Reeves kids. 2. is way distantly related to Alan Ludden. 3. lives near Stiles. (Poor !) 4. My husband, Rob saw Davy (Monkey’s guy?) at the burg airport; I saw Andre the Giant at the Purdue Airport; I went to the same high school and sang in the same choir (not at the same time) as Axl Rose (a.k.a. Bill ) from Guns n Roses; Blind Melon’s lead singer went to school in my hometown (think he committed suicide); Rob went to school with Brett s from Poison. It's astonishing how Stiles' humor and schtick is nearly identical to my husband's zany humor. The sound effects, the crazy impersonations, the quick comebacks, the ability to rattle off corny poetry at the drop of a hat, everything! Every time we watch that show (and we're addicted to it now), my husband says " He keeps doing my stuff!!! " I called my best friend and said, " You're not gonna believe this, but there are two of them!! Watching is like watching Leland. " She tuned in and agrees completely. I live with this 24/7 and love it!! Humor is indeed the best medicine and we have an abundance of it here. Can you imagine if these two ever got together????? We could sell tickets and raise a small fortune for PSC research! My hubby did stand-up comedy back in our college years and was always a hit. So please tell that (in addition to the hot chick from Nova Scotia), there's a middle-aged couple in SC who think he's the best. My claim to fame? When my mother (who turns 82 tomorrow) was born, her first visitor in the hospital was Seena Owen, a famous silent screen star of that day; Seena's brother was their neighbor. Mother still has Seena's autographed photo. Regards, Carolyn B. in SC
Guest guest
6 degrees of separation - interesting concept... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_degrees_of_separation From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Gaia TrekSent: 08 March 2006 06:13 AMTo: Subject: RE: Claims to Fame, Anyone? Rocky & Bullwinkle was one of my favorites! That and Mr. Ed. Cartoons these days just don’t compare! I was talking to my uncle today and he reminded me that because of my relation to Alan Ludden, that would also make me related to Betty White (actress) because that was his wife. I had forgotten about her. What is it that they say – that we are connected to everybody by 6 people, or something like that? If that’s really true, I would think that with this size group, we would really be able to illustrate that by making our claims to fame, however minute. Another connection that slipped my mind is that my Newfoundland puppy we bought over the summer is related to the Newfoundland in Must Love Dogs. The one in the movie is our puppy’s mother’s sister. Guest guest
Dear Arne,Not only do I now know who Linus ing is, but I might have another place to send a letter. See below. The assets of the Linus ing Institute of Science and Medicine were used to establish the Linus ing Institute as a research institute at OSU in 1996 to investigate the function and role of micronutrients, phytochemicals and microconstituents of food in maintaining human health and preventing and treating disease; and to advance the knowledge in areas which were of interest to Linus ing through research and education. LPI continues to function as a working tribute to a great scientist, Linus ing. Oh Oh, who is Linus ing?I hope I'm not the only one who doesn't know. Guest guest
My husband's great grandfather who had emigrated from Sweden helped build the Brooklyn Bridge. Does that count? Guest guest
Barby’s made me remember one…NFL player Lyle Lovellette (spelling is totally off) was a member of our church in IN and a very nice guy. Very large…but very nice. I know two MLB (minor league) players…one under the Astros franchise… Krause (pitcher) and another who I have no idea who he played for…they live across the street from each other. Small world. Guest guest
According to my grandmother (dad's side) and my family tree researching cousins we are related to the presidents . I probably should stop there, but according to legend, our forebear was a brother. Seems like he was the black sheep and a remittance man, all because he had the temerity to run off and marry the sewing girl. Sorta a claim, maybe. Guest guest
In New Zealand a country of 4 million people, you can't be too 'precious' as everyone know everyone...or they have contacts with with someone who knows someone who knows you! But.... Shania Twain's husband Mutt came to visit and to buy trees from our nursery for their farm out the back of beyond. But I would much rather meet all the lovely people from this discussion board.

Guest guest
I wish we could do this kind of genealogy with medical information as well – this way we might be able to make sense of where IBD and PSC come from. LINDA (Mom of Suzanne, 16; IBD 1/04; PSC 3/04) I used to know a website that would trace genealogy as far back as is possible. I think it cost like $20. A cub scouter in my den did it with his family and it took them right back to the Mayflower. It was really amazing and extremely detailed. They gave you a print out. I think ’s was like 15 pages typewritten. Hmm.... Guest guest
Well, I suppose I could put in my 3-1/2 cents: I'm supposedly related to Warren Betty and Shirly Maclaine (who are siblings) through my maternal grandmother's side. Updike (the author) is a distant cousin of some sort to my grandmother whose maiden name was Updike. Josh had his picture taken with Hines Ward on his first day reporting back to training camp after holding out for weeks (Pittsburg Steelers receiver and Superbowl MVP) and my husband got a football signed by him. And just for laughs, my lineage traces back to one " Columbus Uptondyke " (no kidding) who came to America several years after the Mayflower landed... (Some distant relative compiled and published a geneology book on my grandmother's family tree.)
