Guest guest
Hi! I've been reading all your input on aloe vera gel and peeling from sun burns. Well, my grandma has been peeling really badly, and I'm wondering if you have any creams or soap or lotion, etc. recipes that are really good for sunburn peeling. Thanks ahead! I'll have to look and see what recipes I have around, not to mention notes on ingredients. One of these days I'm going to get all this organized and easier to find. Thanks ahead! <<< I haven't been able to find any recipes so far using aloe vera gel. However, I have used with success aloe vera juice. I substitute it for a portion of the water called for in the recipe (i.e. if recipe calls for 2 cups water, I use 1 cup each water and aloe vera juice). I would think you could use the gel in the same way, although it will probably take some experimenting to get proper amounts. The amount of emulsifier(s) used in the recipe may also have to be adjusted. I honestly don't know how the thickness of the gel will affect the final thickness of the lotion or cream. I'm sending in a separate message something I received recently on another list I'm on. It's a compilation of sunburn remedies. NightShade Minds are like parachutes ... they only function when open. Guest guest
Once peeling starts, the dead, damaged skin is sloughed off...there is no way to stop it. You can minimize the flaky appearance by keeping the skin well-moisturized. Your grandmother should use a good sunblock for the next few months to prevent further damage and the skin can repair itself. > >>> Hi! Guest guest
Some time ago something I read somewhere convinced me to buy a bottle of aloe vera gel. I just unpacked it from our move, and have since forgotten why I bought this stuff. Is it a probiotic, perhaps? If anyone has had good results from adding aloe vera gel to their kids' supplement regimen, please let me know. thanks. Daia
Guest guest
Hello! I was wondering if anyone could tell me hoy to make aloe verda gel? i´ve got a nice aloe plant in my garden, so i would love to make my own. Hi Rocio; I don't know the process that is used to make commercial aloe vera gel. But for the home type, just take a large leaf and split it down the center and scrape out the gel that the leaf is composed of.
