Guest guest
I know this isn't the same thing, but, we have the state insurance. So, everything is supposed to be covered, right? Well, when my youngest was 4-5 months old he had bilateral inguinal hernia repair. I later got the printouts with the hospital stay and all of that on there. End of story I thought. Well, a tornado hit our town in May of this year-my son is 2 now-and the first day we started getting mail again, I get a bill from that hospital. They are 2 hours from here. Well, seems the surgeon never got paid. So, my insurance paid for the surgery materials, hospital stay and everything except for the guy who actually did the surgery. I called the patient rep and they gave me the runaround about how they've filed it and filed it and the insurance won't pay. So, I call the insurance. State insurance mind you-on hold for 25 minutes. She tells me they are missing a second opinion form. SO, I call back to the hospital and they say oh, okay we'll send it out. A month goes by, another bill. They are going to send me to collections! This is a $1700 bill mind you. If we had that kind of money, we wouldn't need state insurance. So, I call again. I get a guy who acts SO helpful and says he will take care of it. A month later, another bill! So, I call AGAIN and this time I get someone who says they don't know what it's about and that they don't handle the charges from the doctors. His office does! So, I call the office and get the receptionist there who transfers me to their money expert who proceeds to tell me it WAS paid and I never should have received a bill in the first place! I have not had another bill show up. It was bad timing, after the tornado and not to mention almost 2 years AFTER the surgery had taken place! I just refused to believe the insurance would approve of the surgery, the hospital stay and all of that and refuse to pay the doctor! You may have seen my posts on this place before. I will not go back there. It was a clincher to the fact that they suck. I hope you can get it all worked out! Just don't give up. I know it will all be worth it one day! Keep your eyes on the prize!
