Guest guest
Lori, I hope all the tests that they have been and want to do are not as painful as this one doctor put me through a couple of months ago. They said my lower half is definitely RSD but he's not sure about the upper body.
Guest guest
Jai, I'm glad that your family made it through the hurricanes, that must have been a scary few days not hearing from your cousin. I made it through fine, lost power some but not for any extended period of time. There were trees down and stuff but my building was unharmed. It was pretty exhausting getting ready for them though, I'm so happy (Knock Wood!) that it has been quiet for a bit now. As for s Hopkins, none of those doctors sound familiar but if you are having pretty good success with them I wouldn't mind seeing one of them. I went to Dr. , but the more I think about it the more I'm unsure of his feelings on RSD. I kind of got the impression that he's not a big believer in it, as some doctors don't believe in it. He is supposedly a specialist but what gets me is that he didn't pick up the dystonia in my foot. The specialist I see in Florida knew what it was as soon as I described it to him, and said it is fairly common in my stage of RSD. So I wonder why Dr. did not diagnose me or even seem concerned with my foot at all. But I will give him more time before I decide. I have to go see a rheumatologist there but I don't know his name yet. He was out of the country so I have to go back sometime soon to see him and for a follow up with . He hasn't even said whether he would try and help me or not. I'm glad that you are having success with the SCS, that is great news!! How long will you be staying in Baltimore, do you know? Depending on my follow up and my decision to stay here or move back home I may take you up on the referrals. Before I can move back I would need to have a doctor in place who will treat me and do my meds, etc. I will keep you posted on my situation and when I will be back up there. Maybe you could ask your doctor if he is taking new patients? Anyway, I hope that you are having a nice weekend, and I'm so happy about your SCS truly, that is so great! It's good to talk to you again!! <hugs> Lori
Guest guest
Lin, The skin biopsy was extremely painful and I know the MRI won't be fun, but that's it for now. My old neurologist wanted to do the nerve conducter test but my specialist said no way...it would be unbearable for me. I am sorry you had to go through all of your tests, we have enough pain to deal with! Have they found anything to help you, at least some? <hugs> Lori
Guest guest
Lori, That's the name of that test the one doctor who shall be called Dr O, who wanted me to go to Bethesda for this special brain MRI or something, tell your specialist a BIG thank you for saving you from that test. I couldn't remember the name, I probably blocked out of my mind. It was the most excruciating pain I have ever felt, the whole time I was sobbing, when Dwight came back in he was shocked to see the shape I was in. To this day I still shudder.
