Hi Ladies-

Well, it is now 9 days post-lap/hyst and SU resection. I feel great

(except I've caught a cold), swelling is down, very little pain at

incision sights, still spotting only a tiny bit (brown not red),

started working out again yesterday.

Here's my question...for those of you who had a resection, when was

it okay to have intercourse again? DH is being very patient,

although I am getting pretty impatient about it myself. However, his

40th birthday is on Sunday. and it sure would be nice to celebrate in

every way possible.;-) I suppose I could call my RE's office, but I

am afraid they are going to say wait 2 weeks. And, my post-op

appointment is not until Monday. What do you ladies think?

Hi Aleida,

Sorry about the cold, hope it's nothing too bad.

Well, happy bday to your DH. 4-0 is a big one!! Sure would be nice

to celebrate it properly ;-)

" Wait 2 weeks " seems to be a standard answer from docs after

surgery. This is just my unconventional advice, but I didn't " obey "

this rule toward the end of the 2 weeks because I was feeling

better. It didn't seem to be a problem for me, and emotionally it

made me feel better to romp around w/ dh. I say go for it!

Glad that you are recovering so well from the surgery.

Hi Aleida,

I think I was told to wait 2 weeks post lap/hyst to have sex. Hmm, I

think? I would check with your RE. My DH is celebrating his 39th b-

day on Friday!

Hi Aleida -

They told me that when I stopped bleeding from the sx, I could resume

normal sexual activity. Hope this helps!

Hi Aleida,

My doctor recommended " pelvic rest " (aka, no sex) for the rest of

the cycle. Based on when I had my resection, that was a bit over 2

weeks.

Well, can't really help ya there, but the others seem to. But

couldn't resist teasing ya though...what the heck are they giving

you to be this way?! lol You are so full of energy (well sounds

like it), and now this? hehe I'm dreaded my recovery due to the

fact I don't deal with the gen. anth. very well...let alone the gas

they pump into you. Happy Bday to your hubby and hope you are able

to celebrate it the way you would like, in every way! ;-)

Hugs,

Aleida,

I know what you mean- my RE told me 3 weeks and it was a LONG 3

weeks. I also caught a cold post lap/hyst......

Well, My RE told me 3 weeks, and we broke down at 2 1/2. I have to

say I was pretty sore during, and very sore the next day.I wondered

if I had hurt something, but then it seemed like I was sore during

and after for a few weeks every time. I did have endo though, and

that really added to my pain post op- lost of brusing on the left

side where the endo was more prevelant.

If your RE didn't instruct you, I'd say maybe they aren't so strict

about it. I would call just in case. You'd be at almost 2 weeks

though, and I think I've heard some say two weeks is ok. I'd say

just be really careful and " gentle " with your body if you do.....
