Guest guest Posted April 12, 2002 Report Share Posted April 12, 2002 Hi, all, You might recall I came down 1 mg of prednisone to 6 mg. Did the 7 since Feb 14. Was on 8 mg since last Oct, 9 in Sept and 10 mg since 1-1/2 years. My question: Now, I feel not good. It feels right now--4 days into this reduction of 1 mg--like my face is MORE swollen (looks that way too), I can't sleep, I feel very jittery all the time, and hot! I had experienced very little of this going down to 7 with the exception of less sleep. My doctor says to see how I feel by next week. I was hoping I would feel better. I knew about the " flu " feeling and have used the ginger for the nausea I've been having in the morning again---I knew that was coming and don't worry about that. It wll pass. But this other..... It's not a picnic for sure on this drug, and each time my dosage is changed for flare-ups, I suffer more until my body regulates. By all means, though, tell your doctor. I know everytime I did a decrease, something happened...face and throat swelled up, feet and legs swelled, emotions go screwy. It made me weirder than I already am, fer sure! Sleeplessness, jittery, hot...hmmm...I can't recall, have you done menopause yet? Wondering if the Pred stimulates our hormones, can't remember reading about it, but I'm going to see my GYN Tuesday, and will ask her for us girls...
