Guest guest
Hi all! I am posting this as a request for help. At the end of this month my family and friends of ours are holding a benefit in our home town to raise money for a few of the charities in our local area. Our goal is to raise $3,000.00 to help 60 families have a complete Thanksgiving meal. The charities are The Crombie Street Shelter in Salem Ma, HAWC (Help for Abused Women and Children) and Action Shelter in Gloucester Ma. So far we have raised $545.00 towards our goal. We have done this by selling tickets to a Halloween Masquerade Dance at our local Fraternity club. I understand that most of the people on this digest live quite far away so attending the function is out of the question and I know that many are struggling financially, however I thought that if anyone might be interested in donating even 5.00 or 10.00 I could pass along our website for further information. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and would help a wonderful cause. If you want further information regarding this benefit please go to http://witchesball.easternmass.org I appreciate all of you taking the time to read this post and consider whether you might be interested in donating a few dollars toward this worthy cause. Guest guest
I wish I could help, but right now, I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to get winter coats for the kids, and a few more pairs of jeans and stuff for the girls to have for school ...... So, money is very tight around here.......and whatever money we do get either goes for bills or in my "money cup" to save for the coats that will cost me around $70 just for the girls......and Petey's will probably cost me around $25 on his own. Pitiful.....$25 for a stinking coat that won't even get worn out, that he'll only wear this winter, but still be good for another year or two. I'm getting tired of spending money on clothes that still are practically brand new when he outgrows them! I pay more for the kids clothes than i do my own......and when you have to pay $25 for a stinking pair of Jeans for a 9 year old.....size 12's, AND pay the SAME PRICE for size 3-4 for a 5 year old......with neither of them able to wear them out before they outgrow them........it's really disgusting. Guest guest
Tonia No worries As I said in the original post I totlally understand money situations as Im one of those in the same boat as you and many others on here, I've more than halved my takehome pay during all this and money is certainly the tightest it has ever been. Hopefully, this benefit will yeild the donations we are seeking to help families like yourselves and others during the holidays. Many hugs Tonia!!! Guest guest
Tonia, I cannot make any promises, but tell me the size of your children and will see about getting coats for them. My mother collects clothing (only nice stuff even got a beautiful leather jacket) and sends it to the Dakota Indians. She does this weekly and is going sometime in November to meet the tribal leader with another friend. She is always getting beautiful coats and jackets and some of the clothes she gets still have tags! She just gave me to corduroy jackets for the fall. One with Winnie the Pooh whom I love, and the other a beautiful winter white jacket! If you want my help I will see what I can do! LOL and Best Wishes Always!
