hi

i am writing this as an update on my quest to find a ham that is SCD

legal.

i had written a month ago about the possibility of a fresh ham being

ordered for me from whole foods. well they came in. they are uncured

unsugared, uncooked hams. jody had warned that she had at one time hoped

to get the same and cook it and found that it tasted like a large pork

chop.

i bought some after a local man who smokes meat for hunters said he was

willing to smoke it for me for free but would need to add nitrates to

cure it. perhaps if the butcher at whole foods hadnt cut the bone out

than it would be doable. mine is now more like a large steak. perhaps a

nice barbequed pork recipe would work.

so than still on my quest to find a ham for deli meat, i found my health

food store, an uncured hard wood smoked ham that i bet would also taste

like a pork chop.

so i am just updating anyone who also thought they could get a ham free

of SCD illegal ingredients at whole foods.

I have an awesome Native Mexican recipe for slow roasted pork if you

want it. It makes really yummy shredded pork that's just delicious

with some chopped tomatoes, avocado and lime. Let me know!

If it's smoked than it would probably taste more like a smoky

ham......that wouldn't be so bad.

Good luck in your search!!!
