From my experience, giving a higher dose of ALA did create quicker results, but I gradually worked up to the higher dose, and I always gave it as part of a " round " , altho my rounds were different than what is generally recommended on this forum. Guest guest
Hi, At 15:16 8-1-2004, you wrote: >weekend versus Andy's standard protocol? Taking only one single dose is more likely to cause redistribution than detox. Andy posted a calculation somewhere that showed that a higher dose only cause a *little* more mercury to come out, whereas it caused a *lot* of extra side effects. So the best and safest course of action seems to be to do rounds with low doses, with appropriate off-days to recuperate, and do them for as long as necessary. For myself, I found that longer rounds (with more off-days in between) seem to work better for me than doing short rounds often. I started with 3 days on, 4 days off, but have switched to 5 days on and 9 days off, and I found more improvement with the latter. I do stick to a low dose, though: I tried to increase it once, and became very, very sick indeed. I intend to increase the dose only once I barely notice any side-effects from the current (low) dose at all, and only very, very gradually. Guest guest
I never chelated myself but once I took one 25mg tablet of ALA to see if I will see any effects. As a result I lost my short-term memory (I was developing some software application, and I started looking at my code as if it was written by somebody else - I completely forgot what I was trying to implement there. I also did not want to make eye contact, I had a strange feeling, like " I feel like I am drunk and if I look into people's eyes they will see that I am drunk " . Those bad effects disappeared after several days. But once I increased to 150mg, I became very very sick, till now. It's been about 2 weeks. How did you recover from that bad experience? I now become timid and fearful again. The body becomes so weak. Feeling very negatively. And there are so many floaters in my eyes. Though I am now getting better than few days ago. I am now on 50mg. It's been 3 days. Seems no side effect this time. I dare not to increase the dosing any more. Regards, Chan.

Testing? By how you felt? I am not chelating myself, this is what I experienced with my kids. I started at lower doses, and when I saw no measurable improvement after a round, I increased to a slightly higher dose. Then my kids would improve again, usually very rapidly, then taper off, then I would increase the dose, etc. My kids never showed any negative reaction except they did get yeast overgrowth occasionally, which I treated with GSE. Just curious. let's start with the idea that higher dose will pull out more (but only A LITTLE BIT more). okay, so now let's compare lower dose with MANY doses, compared to ONE higher dose. In order to UNREALISTICALLY simplify things, we will completely ignore the higher risk of mercury redistribution with ONE dose. MANY smaller doses will chelate more than ONE larger dose, unless the larger dose...... MANY large doses would chelate more than ONE large dose or many small doses. The story is a little more complex though. a. higher doses also have more side effects. b. it is important to take many doses close together to lower the chances (and amount) of mercury redistribution. This is the MAIN consideration here. good wishes, Moria
Guest guest
> The story is a little more complex though. > a. higher doses also have more side effects. Higher doses caused me severe side effects. I am 160lbs, and in the last round, I tried 150mg ALA per dose. After that round till now (2 weeks), I think very negatively and become very excitable. Also, very weak and ill. Muscle and eye tics are severe too. What should I do? Simply take a long long resting period, or I have to take some supplements to get well again? Thanks, Chan. > b. it is important to take many doses close together to lower > the chances (and amount) of mercury redistribution. Guest guest
Lots of Vit C will help. Maybe minerals too?
