The super breast sensitivity could be now your hormones are OUT OF BALANCE from going off of the E. You may have too much P which can really make your breasts hurt. Just a thought. Kimmi

Kimmi I too had the same thoughts as you with ..... that those symptoms may be too much Progesterone.. just out of whack and the E. kept it more in balance.

I found out (Dee, please clarify further why what I'm about to

say is wrong if it is) on a health news item thru Discovery

Health (and another news report forgot which news program that

was) that the bioidentical hormones are made up of stuff that is

left over from the meds that are used for most other women.

Spanishmiss, the reason that your doctor doesn't want to give

you the bioidentical is because of the fact that they think that

there's nothing wrong with you. I would recommend consulting a

regular general endocrinologist because they can test the

hormones without much problem and check other vital hormones

such as with the adrenals to make sure something on that line

isn't what is messing up your periods.

I can totally relate to the nipple pain. When I first started as the hormone guinea pig, they were dosing me with progesterone, testosterone, Dhea, and a tiny bit of estradiol. I couldnt wear a bra. I thought that I was going to die. It was definately the hormones. Now that I am on E by itself with nothing else, I have a tiny bit of breast sensitivity, but my nips are good as gold. :) Kimmi

HI Kristy,

OMG.... Of all the crazy stories I've heard that one takes the cake..

Well, all I can tell you is whoever told you that (left over stuff from other meds are used for the bioidenticals?) is absolutely bonkers and has to have a screw loose! That is one of the craziest things I think I've ever heard. Probably started by the Premarin or drug people or some ignorant physician, one of those who insists all estrogens are the same *sigh* plus they can't make a buck if something is compounded so the others are losing big bucks BIG TIME as women get wiser and wiser.

NOT only that but think of Estrace (that's a name brand bio-identical' for you and that doesn't need to be compounded. SO is Prometrium (a progesterone) Do you think those companys go around to their competitors and says 'Hey, gimmie your scraps I wanna cook this up?) LOL I don't think sooooo.

Absolutely not... The bio-identical estradiol 'and' the testosterone by the way are made starting with a base of soy and/or yams... but it has NOTHING at all to do with what people may find over the counter and definitely has NOTHING to do with those progesterone creams, it's the processing of it that's quite technical and there's no way rubbing those yams on us would ever do anything close. And why it's a prescription the same way name brand hormones are.

It's the way its processed and filtered down and manufactured that completely makes it 'exactly' the same and bio-identical to our own Estrogens.. From what I've read, under a microscope the chains, etc. that make it up are so identical that a scientist couldn't tell them apart.

Believe me if Premarin or any other 'throw away junk' was mixed in there... there'd be a world of difference plus major lawsuits as well. Honestly... *sigh* If that was on Discovery I'll eat my hat, let alone throwing a huge hissy fit (and more!)

Dee~ ;)

Dee,

I thought it was strange too which is why I posted so I could

get your take on it.

And the one who said it was a pharmacist which made the story

clip very interesting (in a strange way of course).

Thanks for explaining it further.

Kristy :)

Melinda,

Ask your friends if they know of anyone that goes to an

endocrinologist and ask if they would be willing to tell you

about their experience with this doctor. Then after you have

several names check to see if they are on the insurance plan and

go from there. It was because of an endocrinologist that I knew

that I had lower estrogen levels and needed to be on the pill to

correct the medical problem causing the lower estrogen count.
