Here's the link on Omega 3s and asthma.

http://www.asthmaworld.org/OMEGA3.htm

Bear in mind that the Omega 3s, most particularly EPA, are critical to

rectifying ANY inflammatory condition. If the body shifts to TOO much Omega 6 it

will induce a pro-inflammatory state.

If your child cannot handle oral supplementation, try transdermal in the armpit

area at bedtime. Judging by all the posts I have seen on the autism lists and

parents reporting EFA deficiencies, it is absolutely essential the child get

some sort of supplementation. Not only is EPA vital in reducing inflammation but

it and other EFAs are essential for the myelin sheath which surrounds the

nerves.

I have increased my daughter's dose up to 3 grams a day of EPA with a little DHA

and GLA thrown in and am seeing really good results. She still however has the

chicken skin on the back of her arm. I will wait a few weeks to see if this

diminishes otherwise I will be upping it some more.

I have noticed too she is very sensitive to light. Either this is EFA deficiency

or a measles factor. As I have just gotten a lab back on my self ( measles IGG

20,000 where the upper limit is only 150) I have a sneaky suspicion that measles

might indeed be a factor. My theory is that I have handed down my hyper-immunity

to her. I have given my daughter hefty single doses of Vitamin A over the last

while. I will now be dosing everdy with 50,000 IU and see what happens. Ever

since I started the Vit A her stools have more or less been wonderful!! Even

better is encouraging feedback from the school. She is settling down to do her

work. And are you ready for this. Yesterday she cleaned up my overflowing

laundry room and ironed lots of items like a woman possessed!! ( She's only

10.)

Regarding my own " through the roof " measles IGG antibody labs, I am taking 1

gram of EPA a day for three months to see if I can bring the antibody levels

down.
