Guest guest
Hi!Thanks for the reply. I should add a bit more to my story. :)I am a member of the HappyPelvis group - I have been lurking around there also! I also did several months of PT in California, and one of my PTs was the best of the best - in SF. The reason I have not taken it up here in CO, is 1) I never saw any results from the PT that I did, and I know this can take months to show results; 2) I found the process to be a bit stressful, with the time to get to and be in the appointment, as well as the out-of-pocket expenses. I have a bad taste in my mouth about PT, and thus haven't committed to finding someone. BUT, if PT needs to be part of the overall regimen, then I think I just need to get over it! Are most people in this group involved in some sort of PT type of work? Has anyone seen positive results with clitoral pain?Best,SheilaOn 6/24/07, Zdamask@... wrote: In a message dated 6/24/2007 7:47:18 PM Eastern Daylight Time, greentreesun@ gmail.com writes: I also do vinyasa yoga for relaxation and yoga nidra for deeper relaxation. I have NOT thrown myself 100% into either of these, because I am on the fence about going back for more physical therapy to complement this. I have not found a good PT here but still feel a twinge of guilt for not trying harder or 'giving up' on it. Sheila, If you aren't already a member, i would strongly urge you to join the Yahoo HappyPelvis group. It's a wonderfully supportive and informative group that could give you a great deal of information/guidance about pelvic PT, if you decide you want to give it another go. Molly, one of the original members is from Colorado, by the way. Hollis
Guest guest
Are most people in this group involved in some sort of PT type of work? Has anyone seen positive results with clitoral pain? My impression is that there are a number of people in this group that have had or are considering PT, but that it's a small minority of the total group. Guest guest
Sheila, I started PT about 3 months ago. I have vestibulitis, lichen planus, and some pelvic floor dysfunction from chronic constipation and a hip problem. I am starting to see teeny bits of progress, but that's with going once a week, and my husband doing the skin rolling on my 4 or 5 nights a week at home as well. I am hopeful that the effect will be cumulative... Melinda

I also have clitoral pain....and after 6 months on Neurontin, I have finally found about 75% relief. I dont like having to take drugs but I was nearly crazy from the aching - pins and needles. I couldnt sleep. I couldnt make love with my husband. And I definately couldnt sit!!! Although there is alot of improvement in all those areas...it is still a daily struggle to manage . I resisted using lydocaine but have started using that for emergencies.

Guest guest
Sheila, Sound like you have nerve damage. I have DV which is caused by nerves. About a year ago I tried neurontin, 3,600 mgs/day + effexor XR(ONLY 75) + elavil,150 mgs and after bombarding my body w/ all these meds, I found relief, but it took 6 mo. Then this past Feb. I weened off the drugs, except the elavil which was weened down to 50. With in a week I had the burning back to about a 7-8 on the pain scale. Sooooo here I am today on 1,600 neurontin,(sometimes more)150 mgs of effexor and 150 elavil. I am always trying to ween down on these meds, but every time I do the burning returns. So I have definitely made the conclusion that the neurontin DOES help me. Never tried PT. ANd I sm 61 yrs. old. Hang in there w/ the neurontin and try the other meds w/ it if your doctor will let you. Remember, after the burning etc. is under control you can ween down and be nearly pain free. By the way, I also use the Estrace creme which helps tremendously. Joyce
Guest guest
It took 7 months to get rid of the vestibulitis. I then stopped to find a better pt because my first pt said she couldn't do much more. I then found Liz and have been seeing her for a month and a half and I'm almost completely pain-free. WOO-HOO. But it's taken a long time. Lindsey > I am almost 100% better and pt has been a huge help. > Lindsey > > --------------------------------- > Ready for the edge of your seat? Guest guest
Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I have already learned a lot! I do get the feeling that you need to have a good PT to see some positive results. Since that isn't available out here, I will continue to utilize what is. I do like the idea of a good masseuse though Are any of you going to sex therapy? I found a lady named Heitler here and she is supposedly knowledgeable about pelvic pain conditions.SheilaOn 6/26/07, Lindsey wrote: I am almost 100% better and pt has been a huge help. Guest guest
I have a friend who went last week (along with her daughter) to Chicago to see Rhonda. She went just for one session (consultation) and her daughter went for three sessions. Rhonda told my friend that she should see results within ten sessions, whereas it might take as long as eighteen months for her daughter. I think every body reacts differently to PT and their body is also different - so I don't think there is a one size fits all outcome for PT results. I know my PT (who trained with Rhonda) told me it would be 1-2 years and (when I asked her) she said her average woman takes 12-16 weeks. nne
Guest guest
Hi Lindsey-- I'm SO happy for you that you are feeling almost 100% better. I have faith that once I get proper PT for a long enough time I will be better too. Unfortunately I'm still at ground zero because I've not been able to get coverage and am entirely tapped financially. I am just curious....I know obviously that Liz and do a whole lot of skin rolling, but other than that, what else have they been doing in addition to internal trigger point release? I am just curious because I know that you and I have (for you, had!!!) very similar symptoms. I would be really interested in hearing, in detail, what she has done for you. I know that everyone is different, and what I need is not the same as what you need, but I feel like it would still be helpful as a point of reference. Thanks!!! Looking for a deal?
