Dear Lee;

We are also thinking of switching to the Urso 500 tablets, so

he would have to take fewer pills. As I understand it, the Urso 500

formulation is the same as the Urso 250 formulation, and so there

should be no difference in effectiveness. We'll be talking with his

hepatologist at the end of February/early March about this. We'll

let you know what his hepatologist thinks about this.

Best regards,

Dave R.

Thanks Dave.

I'll be hoping that 's labs come back good.

We did an unintentional experiment with the fish oil.

When Bill was having trouble last month changing his cipro dose and

keeping his INR where they wanted it , we dropped the fish oil for a

few weeks.

On his next labs , his liver enzymes were up. We put him back on the

fish oil and I will let you know what happens the next time we have

his labs done.

We hope to get some Urso 500 next week, I have arranged with our

pharmacist to try it for a month and then switch back should Bill

prefer the 250's.

Bill's GI didn't think it mattered which ones he was on and was

willing to give us a script for either.

I still wanted to hear from this group though, particularly from

those who have been stable on the high dose for awhile as to which mg

dose they were on.

Marc takes the Urso Forte (500) and has done so since May 2005. We

asked the efficacy question to (2) hepatologists, (2)

gastroenterologists and Axcan (well, why not?). Unilaterally, it was

agreed that the vehicle is the same and there is no difference in

product results.

OK, I will add that our field test completely agrees with their

statements. Marc is clinically kicking a** (I love medical jargon).

All of his liver numbers are mid to low range of " normal " (my favorite

word), tests show his liver has zero damage and his ducts are flowing

great without aid of stents or dilatation.

Fewer pills and awesome benefits!

Best wishes,

Marci

Good news, " Eye Candy " is not a curious new autoimmune disease. We are

talking classic, objectifying " eye candy " here.

Pictures are available. Perhaps this could spawn a spunky fund raising

calendar, " The Smoldering Side of PSC " . We have some many internal

images; isn't it time to see the cute body outside the liver?

Truth be known, when I am feeling worn down, I think of alternate

tawdry and amusingly carnal acronyms for PSC. Imagine what fun it is

to be on our gastro and hepatology team! :)

Okay Marci, You

got me I have no idea what eye candy is.

I love the

thought of naming it (it being PSC) different things.

Are we talking tattoo?

I only am curious because I was thinking of getting one last fall…I got

over it and did not, but I think they are cool.
