Guest guest
" i hope i don't get busted for offering another yahoo group here, but kathy blanco on the autism_iron group is absolutely amazing when it comes to info. " Nope, not busted. I prefer people to say where good information can be found. Kathy has a lot of interesting info on that list. Guest guest
Jody and all, Some have managed to get their clostridia under control with the diet. It depends on the individual case. Sheila 44 mos SCD, 20 yrs UC mom of SCD 29 mos -----That will be the determining factor in whether SCD will eventually help eradicate it or not. Bacteria, such as Clostridia that can feed on protein cannot be eliminated by SCD .
Guest guest
<< It's easy to be discouraged when you see posts that reveal problems, drawbacks, regressions, etc.. but I always take in to consideration that the parents of the kids that are flourishing won't post as much because they don't 'need' help. Does that make sense? >> <<Robbie>> Robbie, We've felt that to be true on this list for some time..... The families that have great results with kids doing great tend to get busy with all the other " stuff of life " ...... and don't have much need for support. So, it might *seem* like many of the SCD kids have ongoing problems.... but that's a little skewed. Good observation. I wish we could have updates more often from the true success stories. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, Some people even with Clostridia find that the diet is enough. Some need to do more such as flagyl, or vancomysin with the diet. It really depends on the individual. Sheila 44 mos SCD, 20 yrs UC mom of SCD 29 mos > I'm new to the group and I'm confused by this statement. I thought that kids > with autism often have high clostridia. I was under the impression that SCD > is the diet to get rid of bacteria and yeast, but everything I keep reading, > especially this last statement is really making me wonder. Does this diet > really work, or not? Please help. I need to believe this is the right thing in > order to follow this diet. > Laurie
