Guest guest
I agree with Carol.....you can add pureed cooked veggies into his meat patties pretty easily or make a meatloaf. Have you tried the sneaky pancakes? I personally wouldn't worry about the fat unless your DS is really overweight. Most of the sources of fat on SCD are healthy sources and everything is soooo easy to digest, the fat helps to keep our kids feeling full and satisfied. I lost 20 lbs on SCD never worrying about fat and I always felt hungry when I ate meals lower in fat. Chrystee
Guest guest
Gloria, You're not using any of the squashes..... is there some reason why not? Will he not eat them? You could substitute cooked squash for some of the fruit you're already including..... and cut back on peanut butter, if you're concerned about too much fat. If he has yeast problems, I would be cautious of the raw foods.... as Sheila said earlier today to someone else, raw is definitely harder to digest and will end up feeding the yeast beasts if his digestive tract can't handle it. Is he taking acidophilus? Have you considered the SCD nut yogurt? Patti, mom to Katera, SCD 17 months Need more carbs, less fat - Help Since logging onto FITDAY, I now see that my son is not getting enough carbs and getting too much fat (most of which are from his pancakes). On a typical day my son eats several turkey slices, 3 Midas gold pancakes, an apple, 2-3 oz apple cider, a pear, 6 raw baby carrots, 4 almond flour cookies, a few spoons peanut butter, raw green pepper, " breaded " chicken cutlet (or beef patty or homemade sausage etc). I am trying to keep him low fruit as he is yeasty so adding more carbs with fruit is out. Any ideas? Any help is appreciated!, Thx, Gloria, mom to , 8.5 yo ASD, SCD 9.5 months
