Guest guest
- fantastic article! I am on oral and topical HRT and I can totally agree with each point that was mentioned. My mother was on HRT for over 25 years (amazing, but true) and lived into her 90's. She lived with me and as I took care of her in later years, I know she never had a UTI, or loss of bladder control, and she had not had a hysterectomy. Nor did she have any signs of Alzheimer's. I have Lichen Sclerosus and part of the treatment (no matter what age) is to use topical Estrace in the vaginal area to keep the tissues from atrophying. It is amazing the benefits Estrogen can provide if needed. We have no history of breast cancer in our family, so I am not concerned - nor do I have a uterus. For medical reasons I had a hysterectomy at a young age, but the ovaries were not removed. I did not need HRT for many years after my hysterectomy. I think the benefits of HRT (for me) far outweigh the negatives. nne
