Guest guest
Yay Mike! You are shrinking before our eyes! Congratulations! This morning I got into a pair of my cords that are size 20 from Lane . That was a great feeling. When I was washing them I was thinking how small they look and how I will never fit my big butt in them. Guest guest
Mike (or anyone really), I'm wearing 44 jeans today and I'm worried they might be a little loose already. Guess I can't complain. I've got a pair of khaki and a pair of olive slacks that cost $20 each at Meijer a month or so ago. They're really too big. I'll sell them for $10 OBO each plus shipping if anyone wants them. I've also got a LOT of 3X, 4X, etc. t-shirts, polo shirts, slacks, etc. that I'm giving to Goodwill on Tuesday. I'm talking something like hundreds of articles of clothing in various states of use. Heck I'd sell them for a buck each if I could get it. I have some 20 neck 37/38 arm oxford shirts too. I think they're monogramed though. One is in the wrapper. I also have a merchandise credit at Lane for $8.97 and KingSizeDirect for a little over $118. I need to find that one though (yikes where'd I put it). WLS doesn't seem to have helped my organization skills. Mike in GR > > I found some jeans I had...They are size 52x30. Guest guest
Well crap. Kingsizedirect says I have to order online and then call them and they can apply my credit to the order. I guess that's good except I'm not sure they've got the best deals now that I'm smaller. Maybe I could order something and have it shipped to a different address? I'll bet I could do that. I'd probably be willing to sell this thing for $90 OBO if anyone is interested. Mental note...anything over $100 goes in the safe. STUPID STUPID STUPID. Guest guest
I know the feeling about the surgery not helping organization skills. I have that similar problem. Maybe I need to up my vitimans or part of being thinner means I am now an airhead; who knows? Congratulations on the smaller size!!!Doesn't it feel good to get rid of big clothes? I also know the good feeling on wearing a smaller size jeans. I went to the BX yesterday and tried on a size ten pair of Tommy Hilfiger jeans for women. I love them...Yes I spent a little much for them (though Aafes is cheaper than department stores) I went back today and bought some shirts to go with them...size medium. I just wanted some nice casual clothes for work. I went back this morning and bought some shirts to go with the jeans...size medium. I see myself going down one or two more sizes to an 8. My hip bones are now visible. I would like to loose about 30 more pounds and woith tummy tuck and thigh lift I know I will make my goal size. With the support of my family and friends and this group I know I will maintain the loss... Guest guest
That's awesome Mike! WTG!!! I am in the same boat. I have about 10 pairs of size 24 and 26 jeans that just fall off of me now. I'm just gonna take them to Goodwill so someone less fortunate can use them. In my area, there is this place called Plato's closet that will buy clothes from people that are in good condition and resell them. I haven't check it out yet, but I was thinking about taking some of my more expensive clothes that no longer fit me and I do not want to pay to have them tailored to see what I can get for them. So, when are you gonna let us have a look at you in those 40x30s? You just love teasing, don't you?! You gotta let Shauna get a look at you too! LOL! :-P Anybody need some jeans? Guest guest
, After you said you had a Plato's Closet in your area and thought it might be a chain, I searched for it on the web. Sure enough, it's a chain. But, it buys clothes from makers such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Limited, Tommy Hilfiger, and J. Crew (those sizes and styles worn mostly by young, skinny teenagers). Guess I won't be taking my clothes there. I don't really care to do the E-bay thing; it just seems to be time consuming of which I have little to none. Re: Anybody need some jeans? Guest guest
We've got a Plato's Closet near my city and my daughter constantly pesters me to take her there. They do have 2X clothing but VERY little. It's mostly small and medium. I wonder why there doesn't appear to be consignment shops for big/tall. After all there are shops that sell the stuff. Guest guest
What do you mean? I answer myself all of the time. What's wrong with that? Probably comes from having a dog. I just talk out loud all of the time now. With a dog there, it doesn't feel so strange. But now I'm so used to it I do it ALL of the time. Even caught myself doing it in public. Probably would scare people. I saw a t-shirt with a great saying at Kohl's yesterday. I think it will be my new signature line for a while. It said: " The voices may not be real, but they have some really good ideas. " in MI > > > Well crap. Guest guest
There's another possibility for you. There are some people who have started up businesses for selling stuff on ebay sort of on consignment. You take the stuff to them. They list it, ship it, and everything. Then you split the proceeds. I live in a fairly small town and there is actually one here. I don't know how you'd look them up but it might be a little $$ in your pocket. in MI > > That's awesome Mike! WTG!!! Guest guest
a, I buy clothes as my weight comes down because it makes me feel good about myself and I love going into the store and finding I am smaller than I thought. Plus, trying to find good used clothing appropriate for work is difficult. I usually buy my stuff on sale and I don't mind having my suits tailored to a smaller size and giving away my casual clothes to those less fortunate. in Virginia 299/226/150 Lap RNY: 5/3/06 Re: Anybody need some jeans? why not send the clothes to those just starting out who may need clothes as they come down..........why buy clothes that you only plan on wearing for a few monthes. it could be like a clothes cycling site............Clothes Bypass Unlimited........Ü Ü Ü a Woodard wrote: Are there any other consignment shops in your area? I guess after you've done it a few times, you find ways of doing it more quickly. I still have a lot to learn. Joining this group was a big leap for me. I had never used an online chat group before joining this one. Perhaps I'll check it out just so I can see how easy/difficult it will be for me. LOL! Re: Anybody need some jeans?
