She was very mean and wouldn't even help me onto the table or off..I was in tears...it was only 2 days after my surgery and I could barely move as it was. I complained to Dr. Thayer about her and he took care of it..I received a formal apology. Couldn't have asked for more attentive, caring and kind nurses. They were wonderful ... and were so encouraging to me and supportive for having made the decision to have the wls. Guest guest Posted February 28, 2001 Report Share Posted February 28, 2001 I'm post - op as of jan.25 as in all hospitals there are some good and some bad nurses I found that the majority of nurses at NWH were wonderful and helpul although extremely busy I actually found one or two of the aides to be rather unfriendly they are the ones who take vital signs, but again they were not all that way and for the most part everyone tries there best to make you as comfortable as possible! The last time I was hospitalized was almost 18 years ago when I had my daughter, so I didn't really know what to expect at NWH, but overall the whole experience was much easier and more relaxing than I expected. I have joined and rejpoined the Yahoogroups so many times I don't know who I am; each time it says that name is taken and I give them another. What I truely don't understand is how I get group mail but am not a member of the group that I have been a part of since December 28th. Does anyone out there feel my frustration? Please help. I'm still 5 pounds away from 200 but I will be there very soon. This goes to Cheryl--Regarding the pictures, my friend and I are trying to figure out how to put them on the site without them coming out so huge. If you look at the pictures of me there now, you will see what I mean. But they will be there by hook or by crook. Thank you all for the kinds words for me. Guest guest Posted April 9, 2001 Report Share Posted April 9, 2001 , I lost 40 pounds pre-op. I went from 500 to 460. My date was August 21, 2000, and I have lost 160 since surgery. Don't worry, men and very overweight people tend to lose much quicker. I can't lie though, it has changed my life in many, many ways. Don't get discouraged and don't live for the scale.
