Dear Rita;

My son doesn't take any extra calcium tablets; but he does eat

yoghurt regularly, and we think this will be taking care of most of

his calcium needs. I hope your son is doing well. seems to be

stable; he has not had any intestinal or liver problems for the last

couple of years. We are anxiously awaiting results of his latest

blood work.

Thanks for the kind words about the newsletter.

Best wishes,

Does your son take any calcium supplement? If your son doesn't take

calcium, has it ever been suggested?>

I always have yoghurt at home but my son doesn't eat it. Perhaps if I

mention to him that eating some may be a substitute for calcium

tablets (or at least one of two tablets he takes daily) he may start

eating the yoghurt. My son seems to be stable at present.

I wanted to add my two cents here …

my daughter does take calcium pills. However, it was recommended by a

nutritionist that we see, not her GI.

-, The supplements my son takes (folic acid, calcium, fish oil,

multivite), I learnt about on this site and then talked with his GI

about it and he said OK. I can tell you that I am one of the people

who really appreciate this site and what I learn about what is

happening. I got his ursa upped from what I read here. Sometimes I

feel that I should take a break because it tends to consume me and I

get very depressed when I hear of a loss or the negative effects of

the disease on people but I just have not been able to stay away.
