Hi Sherri,

I think it did help restore my flora by adding the lactobacillus internally, however, I am thinking perhaps I took too much trying to do so. I was taking it orally as well. I know some women who experience chronic bv infections and it just made sense to me to try to approach it naturally as well, of course the docs don't want you to do anything like that!AOL now offers free email to everyone. ok Sherri, I will let you know, I want to discuss with her the effects of too much lactobacillus too, which could be the cause of my burning.AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com.

Mindy,

Did you ever try anything natural for yeast? I took a yeast/fungal detox for mine when the diflucan didn't work and it did seem to clear it up.

Sherri, thanks I will let you know what I find out.

I used Nature's Sunshine Probiotic Eleven ( the homeopathic place told me anyone that has used antibiotics should probably be taking a probiotic like this) to restore everything that the antibiotic messes with.

Also, I took Nature's Sunshine L. Acidophilus and Natures Way Primadohilus Reuteri

I would vary them, perhaps I took too much of it, I will ask her tomorrow. She asked me to stop all supplements 48 hours before seeing her tomorrow so I did, and it could be pure coincidence but I haven't had the burning so much today, so I am going to give it a break for a bit and see what happens.

I do think it makes very good sense to be on a probiotic after or during antibiotic use.

I will try to find you another interesting article I read.

You shouldn't wish you took the oral meds for BV, Carolyn. I took

flagyl for BV and that drug is deadly. I stopped after 3 and half days

because I realized it was frying the nerves.

See, a drug peaks in the body between 1 and 2 hours, and I kid you not,

every time I popped a flagyl, between 1 and 2 hours later, I would get

this really strange " buzzing " sensation in my clitoris. (And I do not

mean the good kind.) ;-) I was absolutely stupefied that flagyl could do

that to my nerves in the clitoris. So I got off the drug. A couple days

later, I developed a tingling in my right foot and hit the ceiling

because I know flagyl is notorious for causing peripheral neuropathy.

Fortunately that foot symptom stopped. But any kind of nerve damage can

cause a burning sensation.

This will freak you out a bit, but, I read a story about a young girl

who was on flagyl for only 3 days and she developed severe neuropathy.

So severe, it involved the calves and her feet. Her legs and feet were

burning so badly, she had to submerge her legs in buckets of ice.

Now, why these drugs are allowed on the market is beyond me. But let me

tell ya, anyone ever wants to prescribe flagyl for me again, they better

run for their life before I smack them. I was given Diflucan again last

week and it made me 10 times worse, not better! (And I cultured positive

for yeast) Hell, I'd rather live with the yeast than take a drug that

sets me back. I'm thinking once a person gets vulvodynia, any drug that

gets into the tissue is going to make it potentially worse. I wish I had

never taken the Diflucan again. Even my rectal tissue is inflamed, now.

ugh . . . But then I read that Diflucan in the body, has 10 times the

concentration in the skin, than it does in the vaginal fluid. (No wonder

my skin is so irritated.)

Hang tough kiddo! ;-)

I totally agree with you I took this clindesse for my bv infection and omg nothing is worse than this burning, I do agree with you. I wish I had taken the oral meds for the bv infection, I am thinking that the intravaginal antibiotic really messed things up in there for me. I am going to a homeopathic doctor tomorrow so I will let you all know if anything earth shattering happens

Hi:

I asked my doctors about adding lactobaccili to my vagina since I don't have any ever. And they all said that it doesn't work because they don't live and become part of the flora of the vagina. If it works for you, let me know. I keep thinking I wouldn't always have an infection if I had lactobaccili in there.

has anyone had cytolytic vagiinosis before? I read that lactibacillus would help with bv so I was inserting the pills internally as well as taking them orally, I am wondering if perhaps I took too much?? and this is causing the burning?

Carolyn,

I forgot to tell you, I have used nothing topical, ever. Nothing. It's

all been oral. Drugs that damage the tissue and nerves, need not be

topical.

Carol:

Thanks for the info. What kind/brand/type of Lactobacillus did you use? Good luck at the ND doctor tomorrow.

It sounds like you might be helped by an outfit like the Stanford Pelvic Pain Clinic (you can goodsearch or google them and their protocol is listed on their website). My personal theory about this crap is that our nerves are in OVERDRIVE in response to an infection (maybe the infection is even cleared and our bodies are still acting like it's there) or other issue like Lyme. In order to heal we need to relax the tight muscles, toughen the skin (estrace), clear up any allergies or infections (yeast, mycoplasma, lyme, etc.), and quiet the nerves through medications AND/or meditation/yoga/relaxation, etc. I think that there is no one cure. I think that for most of us we will have to do MULTIPLE things to get the pain to go away completely. I have a list of things that have helped me and I plan on continuing them until I've been pain free for several months. YOU WILL get better. Hugs, Lindsey

anyone with burning may want to try benadryl, I took a day off and tried claritin and it flared up again. Not sure what this is, but the benadryl seems to be helping it.
