Guest guest
HI all seeing Replens mentioned & that skin sloughing off, here's one womans report for what it's worth. I didn't like it for myself at all, because it burned on me, but we certainly are all different.. so another point of view. Dee~ ==================================== Here in Canada, one of the vaginal moisturizers that's been approved by Health Canada to use for vaginal dryness and menopausal/post menopausal women is a product called Replens. My doc suggested it after reading about it in one of the gyn journals and so far, I've had success with it. It really has helped with the dryness, and is restoring the ph balance in my vagina. Now, one thing that can be a bit scary with this product is that it will in some cases cause a sloughing off of old, dry vaginal derma and it will look like a yeast infection.. (white and lumpy). This clears up after about a month or so, it's not an infection just dry skin...think of it as a vaginal exfoliant...lol...(the product monogram even explains all this). So don't be surprized if you see the same thing. Since I started using it, I've noticed a marked improvement with the itchies, the dryness and soreness on my vulva and vestibule.. as well as with the Estrace. I know that some of the other women have had problems whole using Replens, but I haven't and even my doc has noticed a healthier vaginal area. He was so pleased earlier this week that he also wants to try an estrogen suppository to see if that helps restore some of the vaginal area...the replens will bring relief and restore the ph balance but it does squat for restoring the tissue...only E will do that. The only other thing I can think of is it says not to use it for the sole purposes of a sexual lubricant...it says to use on a reg basis to have optimum effect.
