Guest guest
Lynn, I don't do ultrasounds, so I could be wrong on this, but I believe it would be biparietal distance, the distance between the two parietal bones. Margaret >>> " Lynn Van Couvering " 12/02/02 02:19PM >>> Hi all, This is on an ultrasound, doc dictates, . The s/l biparametal distance, head circumference, femur length and abdominal circumference were measured... I can't document " biparametal distance " , though it sounds logical, as in the distance between two parameters. Any ideas? Guest guest
She says it again on another report, and I can definitely hear the 'm'. It sounds like either " by parametal " or " biparametal " . I'll have to call or just flag it if nobody else has ever heard of this. It's not in Stedman's either. Guest guest
I did find lots of references on Google to fetal ultrasound parameters, so I think she's just making up a word. " Hope that helps. It's in Stedman's Abbreviation book if you want to see it documented :-).
