Guest guest
Sounds like you're in the same place I am with Gabe...not much there you didn't expect to hear, & glad to be getting services for him. Wow, both kids in school all day? Whatever are you going to do with yourself?! > he couldn't do that i guess he " should " be doing, such as > buttoning and scissoring. but he doesn't really do those things > at home, so he's really had no practice. she said that would The things they test are fairly innate - if the child has the strength & coordination to do them, he will be able to. (Whether he WILL or not is a different story, I know.) I had the same concerns about 's first evals; I had not " taught " him how to do _____ yet. But the evaluators told me these are things that should not have to be taught. Thus, if he can't do them, he needs therapy to teach him how. Good luck with it all. -Sara. YOU'RE TEACHING HIM TO CUT???? WHY??? Well, it is an age appropriate skill and other kindergarteners will be able to do it. Pah! Totally unnecessary skill. We do not practice cutting at home. I will leave that in the hands of trained professionals. -Sara.
