Sounds like you're in the same place I am with Gabe...not much there you

The things they test are fairly innate - if the child has the strength &

coordination to do them, he will be able to. (Whether he WILL or not is a

different story, I know.) I had the same concerns about 's first

evals; I had not " taught " him how to do _____ yet. But the evaluators told

me these are things that should not have to be taught. Thus, if he can't do

them, he needs therapy to teach him how.

i'd personally rather NEVER see him with scissors in his hands ;)

Ha, ha, yes, I wondered the same thing when Putter's OT taught him to cut.

YOU'RE TEACHING HIM TO CUT???? WHY???

Well, it is an age appropriate skill and other kindergarteners will be able

to do it.

Pah!

Totally unnecessary skill.

Yes, I have that feeling as well. We do not practice cutting at home. I

will leave that in the hands of trained professionals. ;)
