Guest guest
> Hi, . I just was reading your post about SU bicollis and >surgery where you talked about how common it is to m/c with SU. Do >you know the stats as far as when in the pregnancy it USUALLY >happens? I mean, is it a first trimester or second trimester >occurrence?> Hi , Miscarraige with SU usually occurs in the first trimester. Once you are out of the 1st trimester in a pregnancy with unresected SU things are generally fine - we have had several members here with uneventful pregnancies and full septums ( being one of the most recent, and there are others). It's the implantation on the non-vascular septum that causes the high incidence of m/c in the early weeks. My losses were at 12 weeks (but the pregnancy had not developed past 10 weeks) and 8 weeks (again, development had been lagging). <? What if implantation occurs >on the outer uterine wall? > In this case, m/c is not a risk. I hope I didn't freak you out becasue you are uncertain as to whether you are UD or SU bicollis? Please try not to be worried (which is hard, I know) - you have a proven history of live birth and are already doing great with this pregnancy. I looked at your US pics from your first pregnancy, and I would say it looks similar to the fused UD that both and have been dx with. But that's just my personal, non-medical opinion! My uterine septum was 3/4 the length of my uterus, and both cervices communicate with both sides of my uterus (before and after surgery). In 's case, another member here with SU bicollis, her uterine septum was full length. I don't know if you remember Gabi, she is a (non-active) member who gave birth last year. She has either fused UD or SU bicollis also - she is not 100% sure either. I also read your message about your ignorant OB. That is too bad - he sure sounds like he has no clue. Unfortunately this is common with many OB's who have only learned ancient text book examples of MA's that are not up to date. I saw a RE at Women's Health Centre in Vancouver, B.C. Canada (you are in Ontario, aren't you?) at the Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Clinic - I was referred by my OB who admitted I was well beyond her scope of knowledge. This RE discovered my dx of SU bicollis and told me I was the only case out there - but my research and this group has proven her otherwise. Anyways, I think anything is possible - but try not to worry too much. You are doing really wonderful! And no question is stupid on this list ;O - you answered lots of questions for me when I first joined this group a couple of years ago. Take care, SU resected, bicollis, mom to Sol- 4/14/03 _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
