Guest guest
Karl, Cheese can be used from the beginning if you are not avoiding dairy. In BTVC, the DCCC is used in the intro diet. The chart doesn't include them for 2 reasons. The vast majority of the ASD kids are casein free and the other reason is that BTVC uses cheese from the very beginning so you don't have to " add it in " at some point like you do the raw veggies, beans and whole nuts. Sorry for any confusion. You can use cheese from the beginning if you have no problems with dairy. The list of legal cheeses is in the back of BTVC. BTVC recommends adding various foods gradually after the intro diet but in no special order with the exception of yogurt which isn't started later when healing has begun. The Stages are a guideline for people who are very uncertain as to how to proceed. They are optional and not mandatory. They were not included in the adult version of SCD and were authored on this group. Please see page 73 Paragraph 3 of BTVC which validates this. The important thing is to avoid illegal foods, try new ones in small quantities and never persist with those that give a strong adverse reaction.
