Ben's test results-OT

We got Ben's tests results Friday. The MRI(brain pic) was completely normal, but the EEG(brain wave test) was not. There was an abnormality that shows he is at a high risk of seizure, and this is common in autistic kids, although we never knew this about him until now. I guess they dont treat the problem unless it becomes a problem...so unless he actually does seizure, they dont put him on medication until it would actually happen. I suppose they do this so they dont over medicate people if they dont need it. Anyway, that is all I know for now. The Dr says they will have to keep an eye on this, and we have an appt July 1st for a physical and we will talk about all of this then. Cant say this was good news obviously, but I guess in the back of my mind I knew this might be a possibility. Thanks everyone for your prayers and good thoughts, and please continue to pray that he doesnt have medical problems down the road....I am going to be offline most of today -this is my daughters 15th b-day and we are getting ready for a party with her friends and some family...maybe I'll check on Sunday to see whats up with everyone..Caren><(((*>~There are no strangers here... Hey, Caren! Thanks for sharing with us the results. My mom had

seizures for years and it isn't wonderful, but it isn't bad either.

The thought of it is scarier than the real situation. The seizure

isn't as bad as it may look and they are fine. I will be praying for

you and him. I hope it never happens. I remember really only being

scared that she might get one while she was driving and that could be

bad, then they took her liscense away. I do know that most people

who have them and get the right medication don't get them any more,

so keep your chin up. I'm sure it will all work out.

Blessings,

Fox

NOT SO!!! I am the one who had the seizures, and I know. There are

a lot of effects, some lasting and some not. They are not to be

taken lightly!! -- BUT God HEALED ME!! And He is not a respecter

of persons and can and will do the same for others. Also, He can

see to it that one NEVER has even one, no matter what the tests say

may happen. I will pray for Ben.

My son hit his head when we were in 's one day and had a seizure. We're not sure if he had the seizure before or after hitting his head. Anyway, he started having them on a fairly regular basis and we had the EEG done. It came back that he has an extra brain wave which was causing them. He is now almost 14 and hasn't had one since he was 5! Just because it says something may be abnormal doesn't mean the worse is going to happen. Hope this helped you.
