You have had a long tough road, especially with , and I have always been so impressed with your perseverance. I am so glad you are seeing reason for hope of even more good things to come. -- Sue, mom to Adam (SCD just over 1 year!) and
Guest guest
ulla, i've just read your post and i have to say thank you for the uplifting story. i just recently tried to start my almost 3 year old son on the SCD cold turkey and i failed miserably after two full days of him eating absolutely nothing. i have been so nervous about now weaning him onto it instead of cold turkey but, you've just reassured me that it's the right thing and i just need to make it happen. my son has made remarkable progress in the last 3-4 months due to a combination of enzymes and techniques from the son-rise program (he is not yet in the program just yet). he was completely non-verbal and had limited eye contact up until a few months ago. as of today, he has 75+ words in his vocabulary, wonderful eye contact and has actually begun to ask spontaneous questions. in fact, he answered a question for the first time ever today. now, i can't help but imagine what progress is possible with this diet. so, again, i am thanking you for your inspiring post. i'm sure we all took a little something from it. tracey farrauto nicholas(almost 3) ASD and baby on the way
Guest guest
Ulla, God Bless you! I am new to the diet, my son is doing worse since beginning the diet. He was doing well prior to beginning the diet, coconut kefir was working great. I had to stop the kefir because it isn't on the diet, and when I asked Elaine Gotshall at the Dan Conference she said she didn't know the chemical make-up of young coconuts, although she disliked them not being ripened. Also she wondered what was in the Kefir starter. Anyway, my son is almost seven years old and sometimes I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but then the stims are back and some old behaviors and I worry I will never know my son. Thank you for your encouragement. You were right, someone out there did need to hear it. Laurie mom to Noah 6 ASD, SCD totally legal as of today daughter Avery 22 mo. Guest guest
We are using the Son-Rise program and the SCD diet too. Been SCD since Oct. 2003 and Son-Rise techniques since January 2004. We started a full scale Son-Rise program in August, with 6 child facilitators. She is in her playroom 12 hours a day, and 8 hours on weekends. The changes are dramatic. She is now using artilces, pronouns, verbs, descriptors, prepositions. She is getting more loving each day, and so much more interactive and imaginative. Are you in Georgia?
